These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of otp.rip — its SMS numbers and its Email mailboxes — (the "Service"), operated by otp.rip ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service does
We provide temporary access to virtual telephone numbers, so that you can receive a one-time SMS verification code, and to dedicated email addresses ("mailboxes"), so that you can receive a one-time email code or confirmation link, from a third-party website or application. Each number or mailbox is provided for a single verification and for a limited time.
Messages reach numbers and mailboxes through mobile networks and email systems that we do not operate. We do not control whether a third party chooses to send a message, or whether it accepts a number or address of a given type or country.
2. Eligibility and where you may use the Service
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
- You must not be located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country subject to comprehensive sanctions, and must not be a person with whom we are prohibited from dealing under applicable sanctions laws.
- You may use the Service only where doing so is lawful. Before you use it, it is your responsibility to check that using a temporary number or mailbox is allowed under the laws that apply to you and under the rules of the platform you are verifying with.
- We may refuse, restrict or end access to the Service from any country, for any service or for any account, at our discretion, including to comply with the law.
Never use a temporary number or mailbox for banking, account recovery, or anything you would need to get back into later. Numbers are shared and reissued, and mailboxes close when their window ends; once one leaves your hands you cannot receive its messages again.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for all activity under your account, including activity by anyone you allow to use it and any use of your API key. Keep your credentials confidential and tell us promptly if you believe they have been compromised.
You may hold one account unless we agree otherwise in writing. We may suspend or close accounts we reasonably believe are duplicates created to abuse promotions, referral commission, or usage limits.
4. Your responsibility and acceptable use
Your use of the Service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary, you must not use the Service to commit fraud, to impersonate another person, to evade a lawful ban, to send or solicit unlawful content, or in breach of the terms of any third-party platform you verify against.
You alone are responsible for how you use the Service: for every account you create or verify with a number or mailbox from us, for everything you do with those accounts, and for complying with all laws and regulations that apply to you and with the terms of every platform you use. Many platforms do not allow registration with virtual numbers or temporary addresses; whether your use complies with a platform's rules is a matter between you and that platform.
We provide a technical service only. We do not create, own, operate or monitor the accounts you create, we do not advise on or endorse your use of any platform, and we accept no responsibility for that use. If a platform, an authority or anyone else raises a claim about how you used the Service, that is your responsibility, and clause 12 applies.
5. Balance, pricing and payment
- The Service operates on a prepaid balance. You add funds, then spend them on numbers and mailboxes.
- Deposits are made in cryptocurrency through our payment processor. The minimum deposit is $5.00.
- Prices are shown in US dollars before you commit to a purchase, and are the prices that apply to that purchase.
- Prices change with availability. A price you saw previously does not bind us for a later purchase.
- Your balance is a prepaid credit for use on the Service. It is not a deposit, is not held on trust, earns no interest, and is not a claim on any bank account.
6. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
SMS numbers. If no SMS arrives within 20 minutes, your purchase is refunded to your balance automatically and in full. If you cancel before then, you are refunded immediately.
Email mailboxes. A mailbox is open for 60 minutes and cannot be cancelled. If no code arrives in that time, it is not refunded. A mailbox that could not be created is never charged.
Once a verification code or link has been delivered to you, the purchase has been fulfilled and is not refundable — including where the third-party platform later rejects, restricts, bans or deletes your account.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Numbers and mailboxes for a particular service or country may be unavailable at any time. We may perform maintenance, change or withdraw features, and impose reasonable rate limits.
Delivery depends on mobile networks, email systems and the sending platform. We do not guarantee that any particular message will arrive.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access, withhold provision of further numbers or mailboxes, and where lawful withhold or reverse balance, if we reasonably believe you have:
- breached these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy;
- used the Service for fraud or other unlawful activity, or where its use is prohibited;
- abused the referral programme, chargebacks, or the refund mechanism; or
- created a risk of legal liability, regulatory action or harm for us or for others.
We may also suspend access where the law, or a lawful request from an authority, requires it. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Unspent balance is dealt with under the Refund Policy.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, and its content are owned by us or our licensors. Third-party names and logos shown on the Service are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the platform a number or mailbox may be used to verify against. Their appearance does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from those owners.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that a number or address will be accepted by any platform, or that an account you create will remain active.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you deal as a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill, or for the loss, suspension or termination of any third-party account.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) $50.
12. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the operator and its officers, employees and agents from and against all claims, demands, fines, losses, damages and reasonable costs (including legal fees) brought by any third party or authority and arising from or connected with: your use of the Service; any account you create or verify with it; your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; or your breach of any law or of anyone else's rights.
13. Compliance with the law
We comply with valid legal requests. We may preserve and disclose account and order records where the law requires it, or where necessary to protect the Service, our users or others, and we may suspend access while we do so.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Where a change materially reduces your rights we will give reasonable notice, for example by email or a notice in your account. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance. The current version is always published here with its effective date.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Moldova, and the courts of Moldova have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence and benefit from mandatory consumer protections there.
16. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours to a successor operating the Service. Where these Terms are shown in another language, the English version prevails.
