Temporary email for one-time verification

A temporary verification mailbox separates a one-time confirmation from a long-term personal inbox. It is useful only when the destination permits it and future access does not depend on that address.

Open the Email console

Decide whether temporary email is appropriate

Check the destination’s terms and recovery model. If it will send receipts, security alerts or password resets later, use an address you control permanently. For a short-lived permitted task, a temporary mailbox can reduce unwanted mail reaching a personal inbox.

Do not use a temporary address for high-value, regulated or identity-critical accounts. Losing access to the mailbox may also mean losing access to the account.

Use one mailbox for its intended task

Choose the destination service in the Email console, create the mailbox, and copy the address exactly. Request the confirmation message while the order is active and read it only in the protected mailbox view.

The mailbox is for one website and one order window. Do not publish the address, use it as a general inbox or assume it can be reopened later.

Protect what arrives

Verification messages can contain codes and links that grant account access. Treat them as secrets, do not forward them, and verify the destination before following a link. otp.rip keeps active mailbox content behind authentication rather than exposing it on a public inbox page.

Common questions

Is the mailbox public?

No. Mailbox content is shown in the authenticated customer order view.

Can I receive future recovery mail?

Do not rely on a temporary mailbox for future messages or recovery.
